I know I promised chapter one over winter break. But I was putting the proverbial cart before the horse. After weeks of studying and merging your proposals, I’ve finally come up with a raw-bone story plot. Now, I need your help before I go forward.
Here’s the story:
The boys and girls basketball teams travel to an away game. They’ve had an undefeated season so far. However, there is too much personal drama and a dose of bad game playing and they loose the game. Broken hearted and angry with each other, the teams get back on the bus for the trip home. Weather conditions worsen as the bus travels through the WV mountains. A patch of black ice catches the driver off guard and the bus crashes into a ravine in the middle of nowhere. Everyone survives, but a few are injured. The radio is destroyed and cell phones won’t pick up a signal. It is up to the kids to learn to work as a team to survive the weather until rescuers find them. Do they have what it takes to survive?
Characters
Gary - He's the coach of the boy's team. That's all he is good for, coaching. He is really vocal, and isn't afraid to say what he wants. He is the reason everyone is mad at eachother. First he blames Andrew for losing the game, and then everyone strarts playing the "Blame Game". This is what causes everyone to be angry with eachother. When they crash, the players can't get much help from him, so they are on their on. (What I mean is that the coach is a coward.) - Chinaman12
Han Yi - Of course I had to add a Chinese character. Some characteristics about Yi is that he doesn't speach much English, but gets by. He also is one of the starters for the team. Yi would be the starting center. Basketball is the only thing he's good at. He's 6'5" and is medium sized. He woud be the one to make the 3 to force overtime, but unfortunatly, they lose. At the end, some of the very little fans that came, started criticizing him, and start shouting rude remarks at him. (But he can't understand.) When the bus crashes, he helps out to the most of his ability. Yi deeply cares about everyone because when he was only five, he was seperated from his parents and had to live in an orphanage. He hasn't seen his parents since, but his main goal is to find them...then maybe to the NBA. - Chinaman12
Bobby – He’s a ball player with real talent. Some think he even has what it takes to make it to the pros. He’s everyone’s hope for a real dream come true. But he gets seriously injured during the accident. Now he’s struggling with the possibility of facing a broken dream…We wanted to add some information here...(whacko)
Brett – Like Bobby, he has real ball-playing talent. But he’s arrogant and “hot-dogs” as he tries to get the attention of scouts. He’s not playing as a team and causing a riff between the players. What will it take to make him learn to play as part of a team?
Hayden – She’s the girl everyone loves to hate. She has it all – the looks, the talent, and money. Lots of money. What more could she want? Little does anyone know about her real life. No one ever questions where her parents are and why they are never at any of the games. No one pays any attention to the man who does attend her games. They don’t know that the unassuming man sitting in the fourth row is her family’s butler – and the only person who takes any interest in Hayden’s life. What more do we not know about Hayden?
Tasha – She’s tough. Her plan is to be the first WV woman in the WMBA. Nothing is more important the basketball. Not school, not family, not even her friends. The game is all the matters. What will make her get her priorities straight?
Andrew- He's the odd man out most of the time. Andrew joined the team based only on the fact that he has a natural talent for the game. He is the team's best player, but does not usually get in the "mood" of the game and is not that interested in the team. This is basically because he has to put forth zero to no effort to be great at what he does, and doesn't understand how lucky he is to be able to play as he does without practicing. His attitude has gotten him in an arguement with the rest of the team and he is trying his best not to talk to anyone, mostly because he is afraid to admit that he is wrong. Will his differences with his friends make survival impossible?{arrrg this was witabixhands}
[madison<3]geraldo-nerdy mexican but good at bball,wears glasses(goggles during the game)haha,made fun of a lot,shy,helps out when the buses crash by making nerdy inventions or with fixing the bus,wants to be a well-known scientist,wishes to find a cure for flatulence (Have you watched the old TV show called MacGyver? He was a bit like this...but not too nerdy looking. MsC)
demactoria- had A.D.H.D,cant focus on one thing at a time,sometimes gets confused about which hoop to try to score in(last game she scored 16 points for our team and 6 for the other),leads the league in time outs called
victor- aka the gooch(the muscular guy on the team),intimidates the other team,wants to be a pro wrestler later in life,prides himself on being the only player who can bench press the boys team coach(which by the way weighs 280 pounds),has a weakness for the Hardee's triple angus burger[end of my post-madison]
Lora- i havent got a great idea about this character, so please add more if youd like...she is one of the cheerleaders who was on the 2nd bus that didnt wreck, but she snuck into the cargo hold of this bus while they were at a gas station before the crash, so that she could sneak onto the passenger deck of the bus and talk to her friends who are on the team**.{hunter wrote thisss}
Marty-the water boy.Everyone thinks that he is just a super-smart dork who loves hw,but he's not.He just moved from Ohio and used to be a fun outgoing guy but now he is the quiet kid whos just there.But no one really knows the reason for this.His parents just died last year from a car crash.Now does this crash with the team bring him out of his shell or just push him farther down? (oooh, Elaine, I like this! Ms. C.)
[elaine barry]
Lily- She is spanish and no one can understnad her even though she knows the lanuage english. She just moved there and now her parents have to learn english. Everytime a team mate wants to tell her or her parents something you can't understand them. The thing is, Lily is a great basketball player and catched her mistakes quickly before messing up. Will she ever be able to lose some of her spanish accent for people to understand her? Who knows, she might even be the one who knows who to get out of this terrible situation.
