This is where I will post questions as I am writing. Check here between assignments.
Question 1: I'm liking the suggestion that the team looses the game by a foul shot. I mean, how disappointing would that be? How angry would it make the team toward the player who caused the foul? I am thinking Hunter's character, Andrew, is the protagonist here. Up until that foul, he had no real commitment to the team. This makes him the true "odd man out" as the other players ostracize him as a result. He feels the pain so much that he later volunteers to leave the stranded group and search for help. He will do this as an attempt to redeem himself. Your thoughts?
I think that every one should be mad Andrew. Since he feels bad about losing the game for them he offers to go looking for help. He never comes back so they work together to find him and get rescued.(leeanne)
I think that when the team wrecks and they
What are mad at Andrew and he goes to find help another payer should go with him and they should have obstacles that they have to face together and when they finally succeed no one is mad at andrew. (Ethan)
    I think that when
the team wrecked, Andrew should have to go by himself and the story should be about him and his problems and how he survives.(T-roy Hawk
I think after they wreck Andrew should still be mad about the game. After he has a couple
symptoms of mean argments with his team he realizes that there stuck and they need to get help. He goes off without telling anyone and he gets lost but after a couple of hours he finally finds a gas station and gets help.(Lauren)
First of all, how long is the team stranded for, a week, month more??? If just a week, I think that Andrew had taken his cell with him when he went looking for help, then after hiking for a while, he finally gets service. He makes the call for help, and passes out from hypothermia while talking to the rescuers. They are able to track the # but then, he got soooo far away from the rest of the team that the search continues for many day for the rest. Finally, at the end of the book, the search party, and Andrew, find the team and everyone is SAVED!!!!!!!! (iluvmaggy_theduck)
I think that the team would be losing by 2 points. They had to foul shots before the game would be over in a couple seconds afterwards. After Andrew misses the foul shots the whole team is disappointed and blame him. Then after being in the accident, they all realized they lost as a team.
(idea by angel) by the way...who wrote the one down below?!?!?! [WHO?]
He will leave the bus alone because he feels like a loner. He leaves and in the end when there is no hope left he comes with a team of forest rangers. [WHO?]
That sounds like a really good idea.I mean their has to be someone the team is mad at after the game.Man that would stink to be Andrew. :)
    [elaine barry]
i think it sounds really good too! also when he goes into the woods or whatever, he should get lost and all of his team mates get really worried and starts to regret yelling at him for making them lose their championship game!!!
    [sarah carlton]
yea, i agree also because there has to be some other form of conflict in the story other then them losing and wrecking.sounds good to me.[madison]
I think andrew really wants to make it it up for the team because he made them lose. I think that if hefinds some help, the team will forgive him and try to be his friend. (viviana)
Is Andrew the one who misses the foul shot, costing the team the game or is he the one who gives the other team the foul shot, allowing the other team to win? Either way, I think that this is a great story idea. However, maybe we could elaborate some more on his role in the story. Andrew could have a hidden agenda. There could be other reasons why he doesn't commit himself to the team or why he chooses to search for help. There might even be a reason why he caused the foul or he missed the foul shot.He may have some background issues or past memories. I think we should make Andrew a really complex and complicated character in a way that is hard to tell whether you like him (as in a hero) or you hate him(as in the villian). His true intentions aren't known until the end of the book. --[Joy Wang]
I think this is a very good idea to redeem himself, and that he probably feels really bad for causing the team to lose(Mary F.)
I think that "OUR" team should be losing, but then come back to force overtime. And the play pretty good. They have a 7 point lead with a minute to go. Andrew gets the ball, and the other team steals it from him, and take shoot it up for a 3. Andrew goes to inbound the ball, and he hears people saying some nasty stuff about him. In a blink of an eye, he turns around, says something NASTY to the people in the stands, and tosses the ball to the other team. Then he comes flying out and spears the player. He was called for the foul, and a technical for running over the dude. The other player makes both of his freethrows, from the fou,l and his team is losing by 2. Unfortunatly he has 3 freethrows left, and that guy ironically, is the nation's best freethrow shooter. He makes the first, and the second one, and the stadium is silent. He releases the ball.......and......swoosh. The game is over. It was an upset. The story went nation wide. "OUR" team shakes hands with the other, and walks into the locker room with their spirits crushed. - Chinaman12
He will leave the group for a two day or three days to search for help. On his way to find help he has trouble because there is a terrible snow storm/billizard. He finds shelter and waits until its over. While he waits his hands and feet start to get frostbite. Once its over he starts to look for help again. After 40 miles he finds a gas station and goes inside and gets help from the owner and goes to the hospitable to treat his frostbite and does not lose any finger or toes. He gets help and find them the next day. And eveyone is saved and goes to the hospitable to see if they are sick.THE END. (dario)
I like that idea.I think on his way of searching he encounters obstacles. For example animals and injuries on his way of searching. He gets through it all and finds help.Everybody becomes his friend.(Scott D.)
I think it would be very dissapointing if you lost the game by only one point. Especislly if you missed the foul shot you needed to tie the game. If he went and got help by himself, I think it would be very different. The team may still be dissapointed in Andrew, but they could look over it. (brendan m)
    I like this idea. I think that if he goes to find help the team will forgive him and be happy that he found help or whatever [maddie}
I think this is a very good idea but i think that he should have one friend that still likes him no matter
    hypothermia?
    Describe
what but gets made fun of as well because he stands up for him. Then when he leaves Andrew gets hurt and his friend comes to his rescue.(callen)
I really like this idea. I think that he should have a friend that always stays true to him. (volleyballrox)
I think this would be a good idea but in
it all he needs to like make a friend with somebody. He has to make a friend other wise. yes, he would be the outcast like we want but it would be to much on him. A normal person would snap. (alexandria c.)
There should be a technical on one of our players, and the other team makes both the shots. The less time the more dramatic. (Josh)
I really like the idea off him missing the foul shots, everyone getting angry at him, and him running away. There is just one minor detail that I disagree with. If there are adult chaperones on this trip (chances are there will be) I don't know how them letting him run away would happen with their approval, even if they are angry. I believe that the night of the crash, he should
feel so guilty that he tricks himself into thinking the whole disaster is his doing. So he separates himself from everyone else and in the middle of the night runs away, leaving a note about his future actions to attempt to save them.(cristina)
Question 2: Ball players - I need your help. What would Andrew do that would cause the foul that let the other team take the foul shots? Someone describe the scene and/or the events leading up to it. (Think
like a sports commentator reporting on the scene.)
Andrew had 4 fouls and there team was loseing and his coach told him
to foul becasue they need the ball so andrew knew he was going to be taken out of the game becasue we would have 5 fouls ... so then he said to him self if im going out so is the other player and andrew ran full speed and ran over the other player and broke his arm [sarah p]
The game is tied and the other team stole the ball and going to make an easy lay-up so Andrews had to foul to try to keep them from scoring but apparently it didn't work because they made the free throws. [WHO?]
Andrew had the ball and he got walk. Then when the other team got it back Andrew fouled the other teams person. then the person made the foul shots and won the game. (zack morris)
There was less than one minute in the game and they were losing by one. The team all together had six fouls so they intentionally fouled as fast as possible so they could get the ball back. Since they were over the limit, the other team had a one-and-one. They made the first so they got to shoot again and they made it again. They inbounded it but they never got a shot and lost.(Anthony Sturey)
Ok, Andrew was in the game adn it was the last 2 seconds.Andrew got a little too excited since he knew the team was up by one, and Andrew fouled the other team's player
experience hypothermia -- while that guy was shooting. The guy got two foul shots and made both of them and they lost the game.OH NO! IT WAS ALL ANDREW'S FAULT!
    [elaine barry ]
The away team is up by 7. We knew that we were gonna lose. Hold on, yes, we have the ball back!!! GO...GO...GO!!!! And YES!!!! He makes the 3 from downtown. Uh-Oh, the other team is going hard on that little guy. Why is he turning around??? Children, cover your ears!!!! He turns around and flings the ball at our player with all his strength. What us he doing now.....OOOOOOOOOOO. He has just bulldozed the player with the ball, good thing he isn't hurt. He gets foul shots and technical shoots!!! He makes the first.....the second.....and the third!!!! Now their only losing by 1. Good thing he's the best. He makes the first.....and......the.....second......goes.....up.....and YES!!!! WE HAVE WON THE GAME!!!!!! WHAT AN UPSET!!!! And now all the crowd is rushing the court!!!!! WE HAVE WON!!!! We'll be back to the coverage after a word from your local sponsers. - Chinaman12
Ok, I would like for them to lose by 1 point . It is more dissapointing to lose by 1 point than 2 get beat by 25 .... I no for a fact. I think that when he volunteers it makes him feel better and his teammates feel better about him, but in the first place one player doesnt lose the game it's a team thing and you win and lose as a team......( Rosencrance)
well, i agree with austin that they lose as a team and not just because of one person. BUT, maybe the team doesn't realize that yet. i think it's a good idea that he gets fouled and misses his shot which means they are going to have some hard feelings toward him. So, andrew is feeling bad that he blew it for his team and tries to make it up to them by looking for help. maybe because they've been ignoring him so much they aren't aware that he is even gone at first. they then realize that the way they have been acting towards andrew made him leave. they realize that it really wasn't his all his fault but they put the blame on him because they didnt want to accept
it themselves. they realize he was the better man by taking it and then tryhappening to go and find him. [emily]
I think after the are stranded for really long time, they realize that the all lost the game as a team. At first thay should blame Andrew.(Josh)
Ah, yes. Perhaps they are actually angry with themselves and just take it out on Andrew. hmmm...
    you.

I had an idea that the bus driver had one too many drinks, and kinda dozed off, cuasing them to wreck. That's all that popped into my head. (chinaman12)
This is where we are talking about the accident itself.
I like either Joshs idea or Emilys. They are both good! (Kenzie:]

-UMMM im thinking maybe the bus driver dropped hot coffee into his lap and reached down to pick up the empty cup before it got all over the seat, and when he ducked under to pick it up, he hit a patch of black ice and flew into the side of the hill. (huntermariemagee)
-How the wreck happened=the driver wasn't paying attention and a deer was out in the road and the driver tried to avoid the deer and crashed. (Shelby)
